Happy Wednesday!

Hello everyone! Here are a few announcements for today!

1. Knowin' your AIDS facts! I was really impressed with how well informed you all are about HIV and AIDS in America. I was surprised, however, at how few of you mentioned the global AIDS problem. Did you know that in some regions of Africa almost 40% (yes, that's right: 40!!) of the population is HIV positive (Murphy et al. 2007)??? Knowing that, some of you might reconsider last night's starting assumptions question: "On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most devastating health problem the world has ever seen, how big of a problem do you think HIV/AIDS is?" Just some food for thought!

2. What's due today? Your week 12 Reading Quiz is due tonight at 11:00 p.m. If you have questions about the material, please don't hesitate to ask me!

3. What's coming up? Your Digging Deeper assignments are due tomorrow by 8 with responses by 11:00 p.m.

4. Check thy grades: Remember, we are down to just four weeks left. Check your point totals against the grade cutoffs on the Grading Policies page, set a realistic goal, and do everything you can to achieve that goal. Let me know if you have questions about this.

That's it for today! Enjoy your Wednesday!

Heather
