Howdy y'all! Week 10 is almost over--you survived the first week back from Spring Break! Here are a few reminders:
1. What's due today? This week's Digging Deeper assignment is due tonight at 8:00 p.m., with responses due by 11:00 p.m. The point of this week's assignment is to reinforce the ideas that (a) a gene is nothing more than a "recipe" for a protein; and (b) if that "recipe" gets corrupted, the encoded protein may be defective; and (c) defective proteins can cause illness in humans. Your job is to explain how these principles apply to a particular disease of your choice. Several of you have already gotten a jump on this assignment -- good for you!
2. What's coming up? This week is another Adopt-a-Species week, so make sure you plan ahead! Your assignment is due Sunday at 11:00 p.m., and (as in every Adopt-a-Species week), responses aren't due until Monday at 11:00 p.m. Don't forget to send me an email when you have posted your assignment, so I can add it to the response grid on the discussion board.
3. Last day to drop! After this Friday, you will need a really good reason to drop any class. That means seeking permission from the Dean. If you're thinking of dropping and want to avoid the hassle, please let me know ASAP!
Ok, unless I think of something really important to tell you over the weekend, you won't hear from me until Sunday! But....I'm still here to answer questions, so drop me an email if you need anything!
