1. Done Grading! I finished grading your Adopt-a-Species assignments last evening. I was really impressed with the variety of species you adopted, and with the amount of information you found. I have pasted your corrected assignments, along with the rubrics, in the gradebook at D2L. Please have a look at the comments, and make corrections as necessary before your next Adopt-a-Species assignment is due (week 10).
2. You're in control: Many of you will be happy with your grades on the A-a-S assignments, but some will not. Remember, we are providing you with the rubrics that show exactly how your grades will be determined. Your grades are under your control -- all you have to do is complete the assignments to the specifications that you can see before you begin. We have written the specifications to encourage high-quality work, and it is up to you to deliver.
3. What's due today? I sent an email this morning to remind you about your Final Thoughts assignment as I was afraid many of you would not receive this announcement before they were due (today at noon). Looking ahead to tonight, your Starting Assumptions for week 7 are due at 8:00 p.m., with responses due by 11:00 p.m.
4. What's coming up? Tomorrow is Wednesday, so that means it's a Reading Quiz day. After communicating with several of you via email, it is clear to me that at least some of you are not doing the assigned reading. Although I can't force you to do it, I highly recommend you do, since it's your grade that's at stake.
Let me know if you have questions or comments about anything!
