Hi folks! There's nothing due today or tomorrow so enjoy the break! If you are looking ahead to Sunday's Freelance Writer, here are a few things to keep in mind to help you get a perfect score (I'll re-remind you of these things over the weekend):
1. Vocab words: The whole point of incorporating vocab words into your post is so that I know that you understand the terms. If I can't CLEARLY tell that from your post, then you're not going to receive full credit. The sample assignment on the course webpage offers some excellent examples of how to incorporate key words. Make sure you take a look at it!
2. Spellcheck and Proofread: The average number of points deducted from your last Freelance Writer assignment was 1 point per person--that's 4 spelling or grammar errors in each assignment. There is a really easy fix to this--use the spellcheck function and proofread your work!!
3. Make sure the ad (this week) or news article (last week) is a significant part of your post: The purpose of having you find news articles or ads is that you (1) read them and (2) understand and critically evaluate them, hopefully applying the knowledge you obtained from the chapter and other assignments. Therefore, I want to see details (i.e. evidence that you read and comprehended the article). If you only incorporate the headline into your assignment that tells me that you didn't do any of the above.
Hopefully these tips will help you on your quest for the perfect Freelance Writer assignment! Remember, I'm leaving town this afternoon and will check my email a few times a day over the weekend! Let me know if you have questions!
