End of Week 5 and A-a-S Heads Up!

Good morning folks! Today is the last day of week 5! Don't forget that Final Thoughts assignments are due tonight by 11:00!

Week 6 will be a little different than usual with your first Adopt-a-Species assignment due in place of your Freelance Writer. Please read this announcement very carefully as it will answer many of the questions that you may have for this assignment. I think you will really like the A-a-S, but keep in mind that you will need to allow yourself a little extra prep time.

1) We'll have four of these assignments total, and they are cumulative; after you get everything set up for the first one, you won't have to redo it all for the second, third and fourth.

2) You may earn up to 2 extra credit points if you set up your blog site by Thursday at 11pm. You will need to follow the directions on our course webpage very carefully in order for your site to work. You must declare these two points AND the blog site must be fully functioning in order to get the extra credit.

3) The link to your blog report is due to me via email by no later than Sunday night at 11pm. The report itself is worth 13 points. I will grade your report based on the grading rubric on the course webpage. You do not need to declare the actual report. But, like the Freelance Writer assignments, you MUST declare your two responses (worth the other 2 points).

4) Your responses to two other students will be due by Monday night at 11pm. You need to declare these by 11pm in order to get credit.

5) These responses will be assigned, meaning that I will tell you to whom you should respond. IF your assigned student (or students) does/do not post, then you may choose someone else for your response.

6) You will notice in the Discussion Forum that I have set up a response grid with all of your names on it (in a table format). As you send me your blog links via email, I will upload them into this grid so that you will have direct access to the other students' blogs and you will know exactly to whom you should respond. You can go in and take a look at this and see how it is set up.

7) There is also a list of student names underneath that discussion thread. These say "Responses for so and so...". This is where you will go in and post your response for each student.

Please let me know if you have questions about this as you begin to work on your blogs. Have fun!
